I am new to the vegan life style and am trying different recipes in The Kind Life. Tonight I tried to make a dish with brown rice, but had a heck of a time cooking the rice. It would not soften! How do you guys cook your rice?
Rice cooker, invest in one it's amazing!!!
If cooking on the stove .... it should take around 30mins.
Did you use the rice recipe in the book? If you can remember to soak the rice the night before and cook it as Alicia describes it works perfectly. Takes 50 minutes on the stove.
For myself, I use 1 cup rice and 2 cups water and cook for 60 minutes and it always comes out perfect. Good luck.
I use a brown rice cooker. Easy enough.
Hello,
A whole natural grain also called hulled rice, has an organic-rich bran coat that is highly nutritious and fibrous than white rice. This coating separates the two forms of rice along with their cooking recipes. Cooking Brown rice has a radiant tanned color and a meek nutty taste. Large ratios of people have mentioned that cooking brown rice is a tough and trickier process as compared to white rice. It is because brown rice thick outer texture needs more time and excessive water content for its cooking. The only significant element that is involved in brown rice cuisine is the precision and accuracy in adding water quantity. A big variety of unique methods for cooking brown rice exist.
