Hey there! So I'm 17, and 135 pounds. I'm 5'7"-5'8", and I know I'm at a healthy weight. I do, however, have a paunch, and just enough fat on my legs and rear to make me highly insecure.

I don't necessarily have bad eating habits- in fact, I'm downright 'kind' until afterschool. Then, I have a rather big snack (usually comprised of healthy to moderately unhealthy foods), and then a small dinner a few hours before bed. Also, I have a penchance for sweets (my curse).

My point is, would going vegan, or at least implimenting vegan ways into my diet, help me vanquish those ten pounds? I have been concerned in the past that the chemicals and hormones inadvertently eaten in, persay, school lunches, haven't been auspicious to my health. Thank you for reading, and I hope you guys can shed light on me! :)

P.S. I'm rather inactive in a day, but plan to begin exercising more.

Hi !

I don't think that you need to lose any weight at all! For your height you are on even the lower end of the healthy weight range!!

Don't think of a vegan diet as a way to get a super thin body, that's not what it is all about! We are doing this diet because we love our bodies, our planet and our animal friends. Vegans, like meat eaters, come in all shapes and sizes!

So long as you are living a happy, healthy life - that is all that matters!!

What I noticed when I cut out animal foods was that I felt such peace within myself I no longer cared what the scales said!! Perhaps you will find this is the case for you as well!

Love in kale and quinoa,
