Arsenic levels in brown rice, organic brown rice syrup, ???

I love brown rice and organic brown rice syrup. I use the syrup in oatmeal and mochi and baking. I eat short, medium, and long grain organic brown rice from whole foods like four times a week and probably consume a variant of brown rice every day. I make risotto, rice pudding, rice salads( that I put in nori sheets) and then use rice as an accompaniment to stir frys, beans, etc. With all these news headlines about the dangerous arsenic levels in brown rice and the syrup , I don't know if I am doing the right thing by my family. I have a two year old who eats all my food and I also breast feed a 3 month old. I try to make the best food choices and am always looking out for organic foods, unprocessed, etc. please help

I've switched to agave nectar / maple sugar /maple syrup. I think brown rice syrup is very concentrated and therefore has higher levels of arsenic.


I don't eat brown rice as often, I eat more quinoa and millet, and when I do eat brown rice, I have a feeling that it is safer if it is grown in the US.
