I'm one month veg and today I've had the worst body odor of my life, wondered if it has anything to do with my vegetarism. Anyone else experience this?

If I'm going to start stinking...I think I'm changing my mind :0 I hope you figure it out. It's been unseasonably warm lately, that could be it. I'm pertty sure it has nothing to do with your diet. I would google it

Hello- If you're new to a vegan diet i've heard that BO can be attributed to toxins leaving the body... Just deodorize and wait it out a bit.

This was actually in Alicia's book, and it does have to do with your body readjusting.

Eating an unbalanced diet can cause body odor in some senses - someone who consumes too many grains and gas-causing foods is probably not going to smell all too great.

Try drinking plenty of water and eat fruit. I noticed that when I eat more fruit on a daily basis, I have little to no bad BO.

The smell is probably toxins leaving your body. I've been a vegetarian for a while and I actually notice that I smell less than my meat eating friends. I also stopped using an anti-perspirant which can keep toxins in the body by stoping your body from releasing sweat which is one of the ways our body gets rid of toxins. I sweat less and smell better!

Body odor will get worse, but eventually it gets much better as toxins are cleared from your body. Toxins from the Standard American Diet (SAD) build up, especially if you are using an antiperspirant. If you stop using the antiperspirant and start eating a truly well-balanced and "clean" whole plant based diet, then over a few weeks, the smell should disappear. Perhaps you will need to go on a sabbatical. A few people have unusually strong scents based upon genetics, however, it sounds like this is a recent phenomenon.

Over the past decade, I wash regularly with soap and water, but I do not use deodorants or antiperspirants. Odor is never an issue because I wash underarms once a day or more often when necessary. If I fail to wash, that's a different story.
