I had been doing the organic veggies, grass fed beef / free range organic chicken and low sugar thing for over 3 years. Before that I was eating the average american diet. I saw very little drop in cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure even after 3 years.

After watching Forks Over Knives I went cold turkey vegan the very next day. It has been a little over 7 months now. Right before the switch my numbers were: Cholesterol 201 - BP 142/90 - Blood sugar around 125. Yesterday my numbers were: Cholesterol 164 - BP 121/75 - Blood sugar 85 non-fasting. Finally my numbers have dropped. I am a 6' male and I weighed 150 before but am now 141. I'm actually trying to gain weight now.

I went through a period of fatigue after about 4 months. This was very confusing and depressing because I did not want to start eating meat again. After some food diary work I noticed that my calorie intake was quite low because I was mostly eating veggies and fruit. I added a lot more calorie dense foods such as whole grains and nuts which has cured my fatigue.

Other benefits for me are stronger nails, clearer skin, steady energy all day long, sleeping better, and well... stronger erections. So there's my story. I'm happy and staying Vegan.
