Hi, everyone. I am excited about making these lifestyle changes but I am nervous about the weight issue. Ni am 42 and need to lose 50 pounds. In addition to that I have Type 2 diabetes. My major concern is with the carbs in the starchy veggies and grains. Will this be a constant issue or will it level off? And with my needing to lose a large amount of weight and meat and dairy being a major part of my diet being a major portion of my diet will initial weight loss be more dramatic? I did a juice fast, fresh juice blended at a local whole foods store, for three days and lost 6 pounds so I am wondering if this will have the same effect. Any advice?
You know, only fresh veggies are low-calorie! Try to eat it more

At first, I didn't notice any weight loss at all. My body needed some time to adjust. Then gradually as I started to trust my body and listen to what i was feeling, I noticed that I didn't have to be restrictive anymore. I didn't have the need to be crazy about calories, fat or carbs. Now I enjoy many vegan meals without restriction and and listen to what my body wants and craves. After a weekend of vegan desserts...my body craves simple fruits and vegetables on Monday. My suggestion is to just stick with it and try to listen to what your body wants.
