I had the same problem before, but no more after I change my diet 4 years ago. you should avoid acidity foods like meat beef, chicken and pork, all sugary foods like cake, ice cream, and pizza, drink alkalize water instead of soda, nothing at health food store or pharmacy will fix your problem, only give you temporary relief, and then make it worse, again eat more alkalize foods like bean, lantil, quinoa.....you can buy alkalized water at health food store, the best one is Eternal water. Good luck.

Recently have had the same issue & if you google "acid reflux help" you'll find lots of tips.

Basically avoid: sodas, citrus (& their juices), alcohol, chocolate (I cried when I read this) raw onions, spicy foods, tomato products, oily dressings, fried or fatty foods, sugar & mint. No meat & dairy (but being vegan I was already doing this)

Don't lie down after eating a meal for 2 - 3 hrs, this helps keep stomach contents traveling down...let gravity help to lessen chance of stomach acid coming back up.

Watch portion size, if you overeat then stuff wants to come back up if you are having this problem.

Some soothing or alkanizing foods: pears, peaches, melons, almonds (I read that having a small handful before meals helps cut down the stomach acid). Try half an apple after a meal, it also has an alkanizing effect.

Recently on Dr. Oz he advised chewing gum after a meal (but nothing minty as mint causes more acid). The saliva from the gumchewing helps coat the esophagus. He also suggests drinking aloe vera gel (it looked like maybe 1/4 cup or less)

Except for the meat & dairy I was pretty much doing everything one is not suppose to do & just since the few days I've made the changes I'm noticing a really big difference!

Hope this helps.....diana
