I have been on the birth control pill (one form or another) since I was 13 (to deal with terrible periods). I'm 32 now. One day 3 months ago I realized that the pill was terrible for my body and quit. Life has been much better except for the chin/jawline acne. Can someone recommend a form of birth control that is effective yet non-hormonal? I'm ready to be done with celibacy. Thanks!!!!!
Effective and non-hormonal: Condoms.
They're basically as effective as the pill, and Glyde Vegan and Ethical condoms are the best.
Merina IUD. sometimes stops periods and helps with cramps a ton. Im on my second one. Recommended for woman who have had children.
I also had been on some sort of birth control for many years and just had to stop the nuva ring (which I loved for a long time) because it was giving me awful migraines. I'm now on nothing and my husband and I are using condoms. I'm nervous b/c we aren't quite ready to get pregnant and condoms scare me, but I'm going with it. I want to be hormone free b/c I dont want any more headaches or yucky side effects from pills.
I'd try condoms. So far, we're doing ok!

You can try www.cyclebeads.com/online If your cycles are 26-32 days long, it's about 95% effective. I'd keep using condoms for the first few months til you know if your cycles are within the range.
It's free for a month & a buck a month after that. I used to use the beads, then the app, just started w/ the website. :) So far, so good!
