When I am at the store shopping or making lists or turning off water or lights, etc... I talk to myself and my children about what we are getting and why. Little did I know they were actually listening! Today my four year old told me while I was giving my 9 month old a bath that I didn't need to leave the water on a long time because if I do the hippopotamuses won't have enough water ["FOREVER"]! Do you talk to your kids about why you have a 'green' household? What all do you talk about?

I do the same thing with my 5 year old. She always surprises me with the things she remembers. Thanks to her, my mother now uses a reusable waterbottle and carries canvas bags. It is amazing how much impact a 5 year old can make with adults. When your granddaughter asks you to make a change to make a better world for her, it is hard to refuse.
