I really do not like store bought rice milk. NONE of the milk alternatives for that fact have appealed to me. I have tried every single one out there since I was 18 and started to have an intolrance to milk (I can't digest the chemicals that pass from the cows to their milk). I had to start drinking organic milk which I finally discovered 2 years ago. Myself and my family try to eat as much organic foods as possible even in the meats they eat.
Well I have been googling for recipes to try myself so I can adjust stuff to my taste buds and my families taste buds. I found tons of recipes for homemade rice milk. I just made some with a cup of left over Rice I had in the fridge from last night's dinner. My kids love it! I even like it. I think this will be our new homemade alternative to go over our cereal in the morning. :)
Hi Wendy .... I make my own rice milk too ... I never thought of making it from cooked rice, I might try that some time ... I make my own in a high speed processor and then cook. If you're ever looking for a machine to do this .... you can also make nut milk etc ..... my recommendation is either a Thermomix or a Vitamix .... I just read about this one too which also sounds good if that's all you want the machine for and is priced the best too .... http://soyabella.com/features/index.php
