Serious Protein

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a good vegan protein supplement? I know how much protein is in tofu, beans, etc -- I'm looking for HIGH protein supplements for weightlifting.
Thanks!!
Hey Jason,
vega (http://myvega.com/) is the only protein powder/supplement that I know of that's vegan. The package says you can mix it with just water, but I deifnitely recommend making a shake from it.
It still is only 15g protein per serving, where as most whey ones are closer to 30g.
My other suggestion is to also add the higher vegan proteins like tempah, seitan, lentils, into your diet too.
Hope that helps!
Jason, I recommend checking out TrueNutrition.com where you can get inexpensive pea protein powder and even customize your own blends with hemp or rice protein powders and custom flavorings an sweeteners. True Nutrition has been around many years (formerly named True Protein) and offers powders much cheaper than the branded ones you find at retailers. This is a well respected company in the fitness community for high quality sourced tested ingredients that are not from China and they claim to follow clean packaging techniques.
Vega is the best, but it's darn expensive, way overpriced for what it is.
It's fun to give advice, but this is what I would do to save money; make a good diet plan so you make sure you cover up your protein needs during the day, about 1,5 grams/kg body weight if you want to build muscle. Combine grains and legumes during the day and you may have a supplement/ protein shake after workout to boost recovery. Good luck :)
I just had an awesome protein shake after the gym :D Hemp protein powder (50%), some sugar/cacao/vanilla mix, and soy milk. Tasted great. If you´re hardcore, maybe you just have water. A little sugar after training makes no harm, it might even enhance the recovery since it's immediately absorbed by the tired muscles.
