I just posted because I know I need help in making a full time commitment to this lifestyle. I just have to get over the hump of thinking I can occassionally cheat, because for me, it's a slippery slope. Here's my next question. I have 3 young kids and tubes are tied. I started breaking out in cystic acne on my face and back, and dr. put me on beyaz. It has helped, but I have gained a couple of lbs, and as silly as it may sound, I feel like I have increased cellulite and water retention. Im halfway through my 3rd month on the pill and I really just want to quit mid-pack. However, I am so scared to start breaking out again. I had hormones tested prior to starting on bc, and was expecting testoterone to be high, but it was actually low. blood sugar was low, and a few other things were borderline. Noone has any suggestions. I have so many red marks from acne that it taking forever to heal. I just don't know what to do at this point. Back breakouts are so gross, too. Never had that when I was in highschool, or before children at all for that matter. I don't want to be on birth control forever. I am also taking wellbutrin, and mild anit-depressant, again, because I feel so imbalanced after baby #3. Nothing severe, just irritable, resltelss, and borderline depressed here and there. I think stickcing to a holistic, vegan diet may be the answer to all of this, but I don't know if it's faith or will power that I am lacking.

Hello,

My names Kim and Im 21 and have been organic vegan for 4 months now.

Please please please get some Braggs Apply cider vineger,
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Braggs-Apple-Cider-Vinegar/178181453207

It is seriously the most amazing thing on earth.. there are people that have had complete acne miracles.

As soon as i turned vegan I went off the pill. I had been on it since i was 15 because of my hormones and extreme pain. Listening to the 'professionals' i skipped my periods 3 months in a row, so id only have one 4 times a year.. which is extremely dangerous.
anyways, since being off the pill and being vegan, so processed,no sugar, all organic,I have had regular and almost pain free.

Have you watched any docos? Id suggest :
-Food matters
- Hunger for change.

They are the two that completely changed my life..

Well i better get going, but would love to know how you go.
Take care,
Kim :-)

I had terrible acne from 10 years old through college! Topicals and birth control did not work. I eventually went on accutane and while that helped--I did experience a lot of side effects which surprisingly became permanent (like frequent bouts of eczema).

I really strongly believe now that my acne was the result of my horrible diet (processed foods, no fruits of veggies, high animal proten, never touched a salad until after college!) Acne was just one of the symptoms, as I was beginning to develop a whole slew of health problems in my early twenties. It shocked me that not one doctor ever asked me what I was eating. Instead he indicated that food had nothing to do with it (chocolate, oil, etc.) They prescribed me extremely toxic medications and never once indicated that my skin is a reflection of the health of my body and what is being put into it.

Being veg for 7 years now, I never get that type of acne. a couple here and there--but no more blackheards, no more cysts. I don't even have any scarring! While hormones do play a role keep in mind that hormones are also created in the environment you set up for your body. A proper diet will help keep them in check.

All of the above. Lol Braggs apple cider vinegar great for everything. Also barley tea is supposed to get rid of acne. Search barley tea on this site people talk alot about how it cured there acne. Try to give yourself a month no cheating eating this way that way you can really see a diff in how it makes u feel. Then when u do eat bad things you'll feel how crappy u feel. That has helped me alot to know that if i eat certain things i'm gonna wake up with a runny nose and headache in morning. Ya know
