I've been working on moving toward a vegetarian/vegan diet, but am finding it kinda hard. I'm not a very good cook and my favorite condiment is worcshire sauce. It doesn't help that I'm super picky on flavors and textures. I just know that this is the move I need to make for my own health reasons. Anyone have any suggestions?
Read as many vegan blogs, recipe books and vegan health books as possible ... the more you read and experiment the easier it will become. Slowly convert your pantry over to vegan staples ... makes it easier if you eventually have everything you need there ready to go for a recipe. Good luck!
Take what foods you do love, and create fom there. Simple is always best, and my big fav- fresh herbs!! They can make any meal extra special, while adding antioxidants and other good for you stuff! Baby steps. Ease into the vegan. :0)
When I started, I would sit around in the library or barnes and noble and skim the vegetarian and vegan cookbooks that they had. This would give me inspiration on the possibilities of meals to choose. PCRM also has a great kickstart program and they have lots of easy recipes for beginners. Once you start cooking for yourself, you will learn what you like and start to experiment with everything in your cabinet, it can be really fun!
