I really want to go superhero, and love eating that way, but for some reason the breakfast doesn't stick with me. Wondering if anyone has any hardy suggestions? I find that if I eat brown rice or oats, I'm hungry again very soon, almost shaky after morning walk then I eat something that isn't superhero. thanks!
Try this: Drink hot water with lemon first thing in the morning. Make sure the water is a drinkable temperature before adding the lemon, as to not kill the good properties of the lemon. After you have sipped a cup of that, drink 1-2 more glasses of room temperature water, depending on how thirsty you feel. This should get your digestive system ready, but also help you recognize more easily if you are hungrier shortly after eating or if your body just needed more water. I also read recently that you should be eating lunch four hours after breakfast, so make sure you are eating *enough* at breakfast so you don't feel hungry right away. I usually juice in the morning, but when I was doing superhero breakfasts from Alicia's book, the most filling breakfast for me was the brown rice with apricots. I hope the water trick works for you. It has become a routine for me and I have noticed such an improvement in my digestion since I have added it in. Good luck and Namaste! (:
I heard about the warm water with lemon from Tia Mowry's blog, she discussed it as an easy natural way to detox. She suggested you do it when you wake up and before bed. I was doing it like that for about a week but now I do it about 3 times a week but I might start doing what you suggest Shay every morning.
