I found this info online...I have had mine for about three months now. It's very good and does taste like cheese!

"Determine whether you will use all the yeast in the container within six months. If not, you may want to store some of it in the freezer. Pour some of the yeast into freezer bags. Squeeze the air out of the bags and seal them. Store the bags in the freezer for use later. Nutritional yeast has a shelf life of up to two years if stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, and about one year after opening, under the same conditions. It will keep a little longer in the freezer." By Paige Turner, eHow Contributor

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutritional_yeast Nutritional yeast is so delicious. I love adding to to the blender when I'm making a pesto with walnuts, and I also enjoy adding them into any pasta dish right at the end.

Nutritional yeast is the best on popcorn. Yum!
Put about 1/4 to 1/3 cup poping corn in a paper bag, fold the top down several times. Pop in the microwave until it is almost done popping (my microwave is between 1 min. 45 sec and 2 min 15 sec). Pour into bowl drizzle some melted vegan margarine, salt and lots of nutritional yeast on top. If there are lots of old maids left put them back in the bag and pop them again.
Just be sure that you keep in mind when you burn off your paper bag in your wood stove that it may have a couple kernels in it and it could startle you when they pop. Although it does entertain my dogs.
Side note: don't leave your popcorn unattended at my house, my 5 year old will eat it all!

I bought a large bag of Nutritional Yeast at my local health food store in October. I keep a small jar of some in my refrigerator and the rest in the freezer in a plastic bag with air squeezed out and refill the small jar when needed. It still tastes fresh.
