I just wanted to post and thank Alicia for The Kind Diet book. I purchased it in August 2011 and must say that it really opened my eyes. I had been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for about 15 years. I guess I still had blinders on and didn't know (or didn't want to know) about the horror of dairy and egg farming. I became a vegan after reading her book but didn't stop there - I wanted to know all about the ugly truth and must say I cried a LOT of tears after seeing horrible videos and photos.
Since August of 2011 I have dropped 22 lbs and 3 pant sizes :) I can also be at peace knowing I don't contribute to the torture of innocent animals. I also never knew about the "hidden" animal ingredients (processed white suguar, flour, etc.) Becoming vegan has not been an easy process - it's definitely a complete change in one's lifestyle and I live in Alabama where BBQ reigns supreme! It's also a challenge finding organic veggies and vegan products locally. Any time I even "think" I want to "cheat" on something I see the horrible images that are burned into my brain :(
Again, thanks Alicia for your wonderful book and this wonderful site that changed my life!
