I went to a "Vegan Friendly" restuarant where they cook in front of you. I told them to use oil instead of butter on mine and even though my boyfriend said he could use oil on his too the guy insisted on using butter since he's not vegan, which is fine. But what bothered me is that he used the same cooking utensils for both dishes and he cooked them so close to each other that I noticed a couple of veggies swap sides. Also, I found a piece of chicken in mine. This to me is not "vegan friendly". I plan on calling and talking to the manager about how I can avoid that happening again, am I going over board?

I think most Vegans try not to "rock the boat" when it comes to eating out, we want establishments to want us as customers not find we are a pain in the ass to deal with. Weather at non- veggie friends homes or restaurants the 10% rule works for me and I dont obsess about shared cooking implements like a grill etc. and I tend to not worry about the minute amount of egg or milk in baked goods or pasta in those situations. I know Alicia doesn't normaly get too concerned on those rare occations either.
