Anyone experiencing dry skin combined with acne during detox? I have been eating vegan and recently raw vegan for the past 2 months. I am happy to see my body expelling toxins, but I'd like to speed up the acne phase! :-) I have been soaking in epsom salts and also applying the salts as a mask. Any tips out there?

Thanks!

HI Veg In The City - I have been vegan for 7 months and at about 5 1/2 months I broke out in a serious acne-like rash. A friend and local natural food store owner felt strongly my body was finally in detox (which seems sorta late to me, but maybe). Anyway she recommended the following to further cleanse the liver and help the detox stage: dandelion root tea, milk thistle, and burdock root. Also taking zinc and or biotin are very good for the skin. I started all of these recently. Hope this helps. And if you learn anything else, please share!

I would highly recommend realrawbeauty.com. 100% organic face and body oils. I LOVE this stuff.

I'm getting the same thing, about 2 months into a vegan transition. I do find the body scrub Alicia talks about in her book helps, plus lots of water and also google or Pinterest for detox veggies. I found some great ones like collards and spinach on Pinterest.

I've found doing LESS to my skin helps! Only cleanse using the oil cleansing method and that's it. My combination-oily, acne prone skin is finally behaving!
