I just want to express my gratitude to Alicia for sharing the Kind Diet with the public. I'm one of those people who are easily annoyed with vegans who preach and push their beliefs on others, especially the ones who do so in a rude, offensive and judgemental manner. To me saving animals was a part of making a difference, but, it wasn't the whole picture. Not to mention that no vegan I ever spoke with even talked about the health benefits of being vegan which is a huge selling point BTW.
Alicia approaches the topic in a non judgemental way. It appears that it truly comes from an authentic place. This diet is the equivalent of the holistic approach to healing our bodies. It allows us to see the WHOLE picture not just treat the symptom. I saw her on The View and Oprah. She stated that this diet is about truly being kind to yourself and allowing you to be the best healthy you can be. She also said it wasn't all or nothing for her. Somewhere I'd heard her say if you're kinder to yourself then you're kinder to the animals and therefore kinder to the earth. I may be off by a few words but, you get the point. I knew right then and there that this is what was missing in the typical vegan lifestyle. I also knew that this was more the way I wanted to live.
I have to admit. I'm only 95% percent vegan. Mostly because I have some major food allergies and sensitivities that inhibit me from getting all that I need in plant based foods and nuts and alternative flours etcetera. I'm also naturally extremely thin which is an issue for me. However, this would be only the place I feel safe enough to admit that I'm only ninety five percent vegan. I see there are seasoned vegans and those who are trying-like me.
I have always been a fan of Alicias acting career. My sister and best friend introduced me to her via the movie Clueless. My sister has since passed, but, I have her to thank for the introduction. I find this part of Alicia to be such an inspiration. I cannot say that I'm a true vegan yet, but, I can say with pride when asked if I am vegan "I practice The Kind Diet." Since discovering this diet, I have actually been able to enligten others including; vegans. Additonally, I've tried and learned that I love tofu. I now know how to cook it a million ways lol! I've created new recipes and have even purchased vegan clothing. I've become more conscious of the effects of my choices. Thank you Alicia for enlightening me and offering me a place to connect, grow and learn and thank for presenting the world with a non judgmental and compassionate approach to a vegan lifestyle.
