Super Affectionate Maine Coon Looking for Loving Furever Home!

Looking for a lap cat? A furry best friend? Well, look no more!

Toby is a gorgeous orange and white Maine Coon who is incredibly sweet, loving, and just wants to be your buddy. Toby loves nothing more than to sit on your lap, watch TV with you, or spoon with you while sleeping! He's got the most beautiful ruff you've ever seen. He loves to be brushed and greets you with excited chirps and trills. He's not shy of strangers, and he adores playing with feather toys.

This sweet boy was a stray in need of some TLC when we found him. So we brought Toby home and he has thrived. He's approximately 3 years old and has been neutered, vaccinated, and given dewormer and flea treatment as a precaution. Toby has tested negative for FeLV, and is 100% litter box trained. Toby recently had a check-up and his teeth cleaned.

Toby is very healthy, and although he does test positive for FIV, the current tests cannot tell the difference between a cat infected with the virus or simply vaccinated against the virus. Toby is a very special kitty and deserves a wonderful forever home. Please e-mail me or call me at (858) 344-6183 if you are interested in Toby and I'll send you an adoption application. The adoption fee for Toby is $50 to the Rescue House, a 501 3(c) cat rescue charity.

If Toby does have the FIV virus, it is hard to spread to other cats, and it is not transmissible to dogs or humans (it is cat specific).
"Although there is no specific treatment for FIV, infected cats can live long and healthy lives. It is important to keep feed them a high-quality diet. Since the disease is spread by bite wounds, you can safely keep an FIV-positive cat with FIV-negative cats if the cats get along well together." Source: Virginia Clemans, DVM

"FIV cats most often live long, healthy, and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all. It [FIV] cannot be spread casually - like in litter boxes, water and food bowls, or when snuggling and playing." Now that he has adjusted to a life of luxury at his foster home, he is looking for his permanent home where he can be pampered forever.
