Genetically Modified Produce

I have been reading in the news that Walmart is going to sell genetically modified corn on the cob by a company named Monsanto. Reading about this company is really scarey. I would like your thoughts and suggestions on how to stop this from happening other than not buying produce from Walmart, the fact is that there are a lot of people that can only afford to buy produce at Walmart Kroger and other major grocery stores.
I don't usually get so upset over stuff like this but this company manufactured Agent Orange and labeled it safe and who paid the price? Our soldiers and their families. The thought of this company makes me ill, to think that there are vegans depending on crops and you can unwittingly be eating GM foods! 90% of soybeans are GM by this company! Its outrageous. Looking forward to your thoughts.
What I mean by unwittingly be eating GM foods is that the US Government is not making the company label the produce GM so we don't know we are eating GM produce!
On the produce label, that little sticker, those codes mean something. If its a 4 digit code - that means that it was conventionally grown. If it is a 5 digit code that starts with a 9 - that means that it was organically grown. If it is a 5 digit code that starts with a 8 - that means its GMO - Do Not Buy!!
Monsanto is evil and they are wrecking the planet. Watch "The World According to Monsanto", its a documentary.
