i just got back from a week-long camping trip in the Three Sisters Wilderness in Oregon. It was beautiful and and it also happened to be the first camping trip i have been on since becoming vegan. The days were very physically demanding and many thousands of calories were burnt each day, so in order to make up for it all i decided that i would eat dairy on this trip because it's fat and calorie dense (and because i was the only vegan in my group and it was pretty much the only food option). Well, i was prepared for my system to be a little off from the dairy, but it ended up also effecting my mood, nails, skin, and it drained my energy even more than all the hiking. And I'm still feeling off even though i've been back to eating vegan for a few days now. So not worth it. Next camping trip i will definitely be sticking to veganism. Does anyone have any recommendations for calorie/fat dense food (besides trail mix) that wouldn't be too heavy to carry in a backpack for long periods of time?
any and all help would be appreciated :)
