Hello Alicia and everyone! My name is Haley and I have recently had the vegan enlightenment. I began my journey about 7 months ago deciding to try to not eat meat for a week but I was still OK with eating fish and diary and eggs. Well one week became two and I found I didn't miss meat very much at all. I received quite a bit of flack from my family, but stayed strong. My diet choices however were not incredibly stellar as I was not yet properly educated on a balanced veg diet. Long story made short my husband after looking at the same sad videos showing the complete and utter cruelty that our farm animals endure, he also chose the vegetarian route. I have slowly began to research more and more and finally stumbled across Alicia's book "The Kind Diet." It was exactly what I needed to make the final push. After our trip home to Europe I am now vegan. My husband follows a mostly vegan diet with the occasional cheating day for his beloved fish. I have never felt better spiritually, emotionally and physically and it's only been a few days! I am diligently on the internet and pouring over Alicia's book as well as Ellen Degeneres's book for recipes and proper balanced eating. I guess my question for everyone is for the Vegan parents. I really want to raise our daughter vegan and so far so good. She seems to be thriving as she has already been vegetarian her whole life. She is now 15 months old. My biggest concern is Vitamin B12. I'm scared that this is the one nutrient I may not get into her properly. Does anyone give their children B12 supplements or is there a particular food that is rich in B12 that my 15 month old will also love? My biggest priority is that as a vegan family, we are eating as complete and wholesome as possible. I am so new to this that I often feel a bit overwhelmed but in a good way for sure. But I cannot wait to get into our vegan rhythm :) But any advice from any Vegan parents (especially those with young vegans :) would be so greatly appreciated! I am so happy and feel so blessed to have finally arrived to this point in my life. It only took thirty years! Cheers, Haley

Good luck to you. It is inspiring to hear about new families raising a kinder generation. I think it is the only hope to turn this world around. I too am new, so I have no advice for you. I only wish you luck with your young vegan family.
