I read The Kind Life after seeing it on Oprah. I fell instantly in love with it. I have always been interested in health, but have only played with the vegan life on & off over the last year. I really want to commit to it. I usually follow through on anything I commit to whole heartedly without fail. I am just finding this more difficult than most plans. I don't need animal products, I just need more education of the quick fixes. I am raising three grandchildren, life gets hectic and it throws me. I really want to do this, I am finding it a little harder than other healthy changes I have made up to this point. I want to eat the veggies, I find myself eating the grains more, & that will lead to weight gain I'm afraid. Any advice?

i've been doing this vegan thing for about 8 months. At first i was doing real good with veggies but i'm pretty tired of them now. Lol i eat alot of grains and bean but every morning i make a green drink in blender with alot of vegies and at night if it's late and i'm still hungry i'll make green drink.. So i guess u could say i been drinking my veggies. They really sustain me, fill me up, and keep me from over eating.

I also drink most of my veggies in a green smoothie. I throw super green powder, kale, spinach and various fruits in a blender with some coconut water and agave for sweetening and that's a full serving of fruits and vegetables. For lunch and dinner I stick with meals I've cooked in the crockpot, they generally consist of beans and legumes. Or I'll make myself a tofurkey sandwich :)
