I've been a vegan for almost 2 years but have definitely been experiencing hair loss and scalp sensitivity issues. I THINK I am eating right but am starting to freak out with the amount of hair loss during a regular shampoo. I've been hearing that I need to supplement with B12 and Iron and L-lysine. Any suggestions? I'd love to meet with a Macrobiotic counselor - anyone know a good one in NYC?

Before you start supplementing I would try ironrich foods like rolled oats, beans, lentils, peas, spinach, tofu, pumpkinseeds and so on!! Believe me, it's worth trying!! My body has problems with metabolising iron in general, but everytime I do bloodtests, my ironlevels are totally healthy, even though they were always too low, when I ate animalproducts..
Just incorporate a little bit of those foods in your diet regularly..
Hope this helps until you find a macrobiotic counselor!
