I live in Newport Maine and have been attempting the super hero diet. The problem is that my slection of recipies are extremely limited. i am having a hard time finding the umeboshi plums, paste or vinegar. And the sea veggies are just as hard to find (why is beyond me...we got a ton of ocean) I found Daikon at a tiny shop and save right in town but they are monsters...like 3lbs each. Mochi I cannot find to save my life either. I am about 75lbs overweight and have lost alot over the last couple weeks but its more because I am unable to find hardly any of the foods to make the recipes so I basically live of plain daikon and sweet potato. Its a bit frustrating because while my family is about as carnivorous as it gets, I just have no appetite for any of it. I also do not have an appetite for soy products ( the packaged vegan alternative meats ect). I basically only really care for soups and raw veggies..sometimes cooked veggies.

I was hoping there would be some other Mainer's in this forum that would have a better idea of where to find these things. I had them no problem living on base but seems back here in Maine there are major parts of the diet missing in the stores

Hi there :-)
It sounds like you are doing great! Well done on the weight loss!! :-)
I would suggest buying online at places like: iherb.com and even amazon do things too. Iherb is a great one and I have a code so you can get $5.00 off your first order (message me privately if you want it). Their shipping costs are low or nothing for US - I am in Australia so can't quite remember! - and their selection is fantastic.
Sea veggies, umeboshi plums and paste and vinegar are all there....but there are loads of recipes where you don't need those items too.
Good luck :-)
