Hi! I'm new to the site, and new to veganism! I've been ignoring my intuition regarding my meat eating habits for several years now, but when I stumbled across Alicia's book a few days ago, her lovely, smiley face was so welcoming that I just had to buy it and it just feels like the right move for me. None of our friends are even vegetarian, and although I knew that my husband wouldn't want to do this with me, I am so saddened by how un-supportive he was, which is very unlike him! I know he'll get used to the idea eventually, but I can't help but think that if he's reacted so negatively, my friends are likely to do the same! Aargh.
BUT, it's been 5 days now and I feel a million dollars! I'm so light, so happy and so at peace with myself for making this move. I can't wait to meet all the other kind lifers, and maybe even find some other Australians on here!

Thanks Kirsty! Nice to meet you :) I'm very excited to say that since making the switch, so many positive things have happened that I'm sure it's not a coincidence! It's like the universe is rewarding me for finally listening to my inner voice, and showing me that I'm on the right path! Loving it :)

Welcome! So happy to hear you are already feeling the positive effects of switching to healthier eating habits. However, I know how difficult it can be to bring the partner on board as well, so I have a few suggestions... What about starting http://www.meatlessmonday.com/ at your house. And, here are the excellent reasons for going meatless: http://www.meatlessmonday.com/why-meatless/ . If your friends/family need convincing you will have this great information to share. Also, read The China Study, it's based on science & such an eye-opener for anybody wondering if there's anything to going plant-based...and leave it around for your guy to pick up, too. Hope this helps!

I agree it's no coincidence .... I also feel like there is so much more positive energy and you feel so much calmer and happier!! It's great.
