So, I am contemplating doing either superhero or raw foods. Alot of raw foodists eat lots of fruit! More fruit than veg. How much fruit does the superhero diet reccomend? Is it ok to not have any fruit and just do veggies? What are your thoughts, superheros?

Hi Molly,
if you're going superhero your personal superherofoods pretty much depend on where you live and how you feel eating different foods. The macrobiotic diet is different for every person. But a good guideline is going with the seasons. In winter I wouldn't even think about having a big fruitsalad, because it's cold here and I need something warm. Although in summer when most of the fruit is in season and it's really hot outside a fruitsalad is the perfect meal to cool you down. So during autumn and winter I eat more veggies and don't have fruit every day, and if I have any, it's usually an apple or some dried fruit with my oatmeal. Your body needs different things throughout the year. Personally I can say, that going with the seasons is not only cheaper (and better for the environment, cause the fruit n veg is locally grown), but I desire certain foods differently throughout the year. Also I feel like -now off sugar- fruit is very sweet and I don't feel too well after having any. So listening to your very personal needs is key! If you have a sweet tooth (or due to school/workinghours have to rely on snackfoods) it's obviously better to have fruit as snacks than unhealthy stuff ;)
Long story short: try different things to see what's working for you! And most importantly: enjoy living healthy ;)
