Anyone need a fellow kind-lifer weight loss buddy? I've been vegan for over a year and try to eat very healthy, but over the past few months I let training for a half-marathon completely wipe out my sense of portion control/listening to my body's hunger, ate a lot of sugary junk, and put on about 15 pounds! Re-focusing on my whole grains/veggies/proteins now and trying to eat mindfully.... would love some buddies to check in with/share motivation, etc! If anyone's in a similar boat let me know! Y'all are awesome and are such an inspiration :)
Be well! -Miranda
Hey Miranda, I just wanted to wish you lots of luck for your weightloss- journey and for your half-marathon! I had the exact same problem during marathon-training a few years back. Cutting out sugar is really a healthy way to loose weight! Always did the trick for me at least. Where will you run your half-marathon? And is it your first one? Good luck!
Hi, I'm 30 and have lost 15 pounds so far and have about 30-35 more pounds to lose to get to my goal. I'd love to have a weight loss buddy that eats a plant based diet! I would like to start back running again, been off it a while due to pain in my right heel after running. I've been doing spinning classes, was 3 times a week but only 2 times a week now. I am having a hard time staying away from sweets and not eating too much ( I tend to give in when my body tells me its hungry even when I know it shouldn't be).
Hiya, I am a flirter, but I try to eat more vegan at home. I am in training for a half marathon and going for a full marathon next may (for my 30th!) I am up for being a buddy! I work shifts so I often need sugar to help me though a 12 hour night shift (sometimes you just need chocolate!)
I have about the same weight to lose!
Let's do this!
I would definitely be interested. Like Lawen, I am trying to eat more vegan foods. I'm not quite yet a vegan. However, I'm definitely interested in joining what may be a vegan weight loss buddy group (?). I'm about 10 lbs. overweight but would like to lose a little more to get right in the middle of the "normal weight" range for my height. Best of luck to everyone in their quest to get healthier!
Hey y'all, so happy to hear from some people! It's great to feel like we're all in the same boat! :) You all are inspiring already.... I agree about the simple healthy choices, such as cutting out sugar or, for me, trying to eat more mindfully and not snack after dinner! I've been trying to just reallllyyy get back to emphasizing my fruits and veggies and whole grains the past week and I feel wonderful already. Let's go, friends!!!

If anyone on here uses myfitnesspal for the calorie counting and stuff, I'd love to be buddies on there. My username for MFP is heathernsg. I'm not fully vegan yet, but working towards becoming fully plant based for the most part (except eggs, we raise our own chickens and have lovely cruelty free eggs available most of the time which I don't mind having now and then). Having a hard time with dairy mainly, its in so much stuff and sometimes I do get cheese cravings. I am trying to get off dairy now (it does not agree with my body), I was off it for a while but started slipping up lately. Hubby and son are not veggie although they do eat less meat than most and enjoy most of the plant based recipes I fix at home.
