Hello Everyone!
This is my first post on the forum! As one who has been interested in vegan and raw cuisines, I've decided to take things to the next level and convert to vegan home, bath, and beauty products.

I am 29 years old, and have been coloring my hair dark brown/almost black at home using L'Oreal products bi-monthly for the last 11 years. I am bit nervous about the effects of changing this routine as I have long hair saturated in this dye, but I do feel it is important to make the transition! (And, sorry, but I'm just not willing to accept my grays yet, nor am I willing to cut my hair--took me years to get it this long, and I loves it!)

Do any of you color your hair dark at home, and if so, do you have any suggestions for me? I'm in graduate school right now, so funds are limited making salon coloring not an option... but I also really don't want some bad, inky black dye job! Thanks!

Natural dyes have a huge range as far as performance and color. I dye my hair from blonde to red using Light Mountain hair color (a temporary dye), but their darker colors have gotten mixed reviews. Many dyes also won't cover grays, so some brands (light Light Mountain) make a separate product designed to cover grays. I would suggest looking at reviews for specific colors from lines such as Tints of Nature or Naturtint, if you are looking for something more permanent. Even within a brand, specific colors can range greatly and with products such as henna, how you set it up and apply it has a significant effect on the results. Best of luck!
