hello everyone. My name is Agathi. I've been thinking to change the way I eat because I want to live more healthy. But I do have some questions. First of all I wonder if following a vegetarian diet means I must take food supplements all my life?
And I know that soya sead is mutated and there is no pure sead left. The vegetarian diet is based most on soya. Can I be a vegetarian without eating soya? Finally, I have digestive problems, so I asked my doctor about vegetarian diet. He told me that vegetarian diet is no good for a woman because of the amount of blood we lose every month which cannot replaced with the ingredients someone take from a veg diet. Well I don't know what to believe and I know that many people are against this diet without even trying it. So I would love to hear your opinion about these things. Thanks everyone. And thank you Alicia for this amazing site! Be healthy!
Your doctor is wrong, most are. They don't learn about health or how to stay healthly. They learn more about how to treat "diseases and syndroms and symptoms with medication not food and health. Alot of stuff has iron to replace womens blood from menstration, like parsley has alot. I just put a handfull of parsley in my morning smoothy. Just google plant sources for iron. Also i am a vegan, well most of the time, and i never eat soy. I have alot of digestions issues too and i finally found out meat was the problem. I just don't digest it. I eat beans brown rice, nuts and seeds. Almost everything including spinach has protien. Quinoa is a complete protein like meat. I was vegitarian for 5 yrs and cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese, was my protein. But if your having digestive problems dairy is probly the first place u should look at.
Alexia thank you so much for your answer. I looked about plant sources of iron. You're so right. I just need to make a weekly food plan to ensure I take everything I need. You were right about dairy. I do have a problem with digesting lactose. Also, I'm very pleased to hear about you not eating soya. This was the only thing I was very skeptical about! Well, thank you again!!!
