Hi. I have been through a lot of stress for the last 6 months. My skin is not dealing well. I lost too much weight but am regaining, but in the meantime, my face and body seem to overreact to just about everything now. I react to chamomile, avacado, coconut anything, and lavender. I seem okay with coco butter in it's pure form, melted. I am thinking about trying grapeseed oil. I also react to nut based oils. (React= red blotches, puffyness) My skin seems so dry now, and it used to be glowing and moist. My diet has suffered, not so much eating junk as NOT eating enough nutrient based whole foods, and probably not enough water. ...Sometimes, really, I just start crying. I used to feel so healthy and good. I am in my 40's. I keep having fearful, "I'm wrecked!" thoughts which is off the topic a bit but I know you'll understand. Because you are kind. Please, any help would mean so much right now. I feel I more want to baby and protect my skin a bit, I think I need to get a healthy skin barrier back if possible. I used to use and still sometimes do use Badger plain suncsreen but even that now makes my skin get all weird feeling, almost drier once it soaks in which I dont understand. I also dont seem to sweat so much lately. Would a sauna be a good idea? Hot yoga? Cheers.

Hi Sam..Have you tried Vaseline? I had allergic reactions (red splotches, skin rashes, itchiness) all over the face and whole body for about a month. The doctor told me to take shower only once a day in the evening and start using Vaseline (the original one that's unscented) because it's mild and it keeps skin moist, and it worked very well.

And just keep distracting yourself to avoid bad thoughts..see a doctor or a dermatologist too!!

Watch videos that make you laugh, like this one: http://youtu.be/4aTagDSnclk

I love Chia's advice: seek laughter! And, Have you thought about meditation? Here's a site I check daily: mindbodygreen.com

There are many experts sharing their wisdom on yoga, nutrition, spiritual & mental wellness. I always learn something valuable I can use in my life. Btw, have you given jojoba oil a try for your skin? You mentioned that you are not eating as well as before, so this might be what's making your skin appear different. Maybe see a doc & have some blood work done to check if there's something else going on. I hope you are able to get back on the right track soon!

Hi Chia and diana!
Thanks so much for the lovely advice. You know, I have been wondering about plain good old vaseline. Because what I really want right now is something to comfort and protect my skin a little without much interaction with a lot of ingredients. I think I will try it, and it could just be a trace amount used. I like the idea of the shower and I have been have much shorter and more lukewarm showers. I absolutely loved that video! I had a good laugh and looked at some others too. What a simple but good idea for releasing tension and just bringing some fun back to my life. I looked at the mindbodygreen.com site and also found lots of good stuff, think Ill go there every day for inspriation. Jojoba oil- will try too. Thank you both so much again for the advice, support and kind words!

I've recently discovered Yes To Cucumbers Gentle Milk Cleanser it's under $10 & my skin feels awesome after I wash it, not tight at all. It contains Aloe & Green Tea highly recommend it. My husband even uses it to shave since it's the only thing that doesn't irritate his face. After I started drinking green smoothies more often my skin health starting looking & feeling much better so you could always go that route. Natural Calm by Natural Vitality is a Magnesium drink that gives yah very peaceful feeling, feel way less stressed when having a glass at night & feel so rested when I wake up. Happy Holidays =)

Happy new year Sam! Hope you will have a wonderful year and may the past be forgotten! =3

P.S.
If you have a juicer...try this drink:
Brocco-Carrot
1 Spear broccoli
2 Carrots
1 Apple
According to the Juice Bible, this drink is recommended for ones having skin conditions. AND most importantly, it is delicious!
