So true Flightless and I really understand where you are coming from Awwo911. I have been really happily surprised to see how a close family member of mine has taken to eating certain healthy things, the more I make them. She's tried them and , to my surprise, actually LIKES them. Today she bought home a bag of Kale. For herself. ( I nearly cried.) Along with some chicken nuggets from Wendy's . For herself. After getting over a cold. ( I nearly screamed.) I want her to stay healthy and for a day to just hold off on the fast food, you know what I'm saying. She understands that I love her and I am really honing in on the skill of just not saying anything and letting my cooking or my eating speak for itself. I had to say something tonight tho , it was serious.

I think on another note, you can be happy that you care as much as you do. You don't - rather , We dont have to say things , or even be rude or give looks , but like Flightless said- we can be the change and ... watch what other people do in response to just seeing you do what you do. I have been surprised,in a good way.

I can empathize w/ AWW0911 & SJG about wanting to scream thru a mega phone to the masses about how much people are setting themselves up for major diseases, and poorer quality of life. It is a burden we all share. I think it is partly a perception that healthy food either tastes bad or is expensive. Primarily it is habit, and lack of education. All we can do, despite wanting to scream, is have endless compassion. We all have our lessons and obstacles. Some have it around health, some around relationships. Ultimately, we are all the same at our core, no one better than another. Yet, all of our choices effect each other, so yes, I hope we can get people to wake up and smell the fresh juice!

I am bothered by family members who have the same digestive issues as i do and have seen me heal my joints and stomach pains and made my stomach go from where it looks 8 months pregnant to now flat. They complain to me all the time "i've gotta do something with this gut i don't know what i'm gonna do but yet they drink soda all day everyday and continue to eaty meat even though it blows there stomach up. I think some people would rather die than stop eating certain foods. I know my quality of life is so food now compared to how it used to be and they all see that too. It's frustrating

I married a cigarette smoking SAD man 14 years ago when I was already a ten plus year vegan. He understood my choice was for the animals and planet and has always supported me and what he calls my kind heart. In January a relative died at age 54 out of nowhere from a massive heart attack. Another relative watched forks over knives and decided with her husband and 2 young daughters to try going vegan. He watched the movie in support of them and has been vegetarian ever since, not for the animals, but to be around for me and our daughter. He does not call himself a vegetarian although 90% of the time he is vegan, but says he enjoys eating vegetarian. Hard to believe my 14 year influence could not do what an hour and a half movie could but I love it. We save money on groceries are closer now that we share more than side dishes, and he has lost weight, sleeps better and has more energy. Hang in there, you never know!
