Breast feeding and weight loss

So I just had a baby 5 weeks ago. I have been trying to breastfeed but have clogged milk ducts so I have been nursing with what I do have, supplementing and pumping. It has been exhausting and I am constantly hungry. Although I only have about 5-10 pounds to lose, I am getting frustrated with the scale. I realize exercise plays a role, which i have begun. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to lose weight yet still attempt to breast feed?
The clogged milk ducts are from not emptying your breast each time you nurse. That also means your baby is mostly getting the first part of your milk and the nutritious hind milk, very bad. I h ad problems with clogged painful ducts and found la leche league online. Through the website I got the phone numbers of five women who volunteered to help, called one who helped me figure out what was wrong and had no more problems. Also, do not overdue the exercise just yet. When you work your muscles you release something into your system that changes the way the milk tastes. It was heartbreaking to know my daughter was hungry but would not drink. Figured that out plus some foods I was eating and again, no more problems. Hope this helps, def try la leche league, they were way ,ore helpful than hospital.

Thanks so much! I have been working with a lactation consultant and it looks like I am on track to decrease his formula intake. I will definitely contact the LLL. Been reading "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding". So helpful. Thanks again :)
