Siberian Cats

My son is allergic to cats. We have tried a couple times to re-introduce cats to him. His reaction is on his skin and will get rashes from the dander/fur. He doesn't sneeze or get itchy eyes.
Has anyone had any success with siberian cats? I know they are supposed to be hypoallergenic and am waiting to have my "application" approved by a breeder. We are desperate to have an animal. A cat would be so much easier for us. My husband is allergic to dogs and my son is allergic to dogs and cats. : (
