Hello shirit k! There are so many great foods you can try. I don't know what your weight is (if you want to lose or maintain). I have been losing about a pound a week, which I need to do for my health. The great thing about going vegan is I have heard so many people saying their bodies just get to their natural weight (and from my own experience so far, I am a believer!). The alternative dairy and meat products are much healthier for you and are lower in cholesterol, sugar, and fat. I want to go more natural but right now I still eat a lot of processed vegan foods. I love vegan "hot dogs," soy or almond milk, rice cheese, humus, pita chips and bread, meatless chili, peanut butter. There are so many great resources like Chia was saying I love vegancooking.com and easyvegan.com. Good books for learning more about nutrition are Veganist by Kathy Freston and also The Food Revolution by John Robbins. For an informative DVD, see if your library has Vegucated. Hope this helps, good luck and feel free to message/friend me! :)
Good Morning Shirit,
You are on the right path. I have done a lot of research and i find that Alicia's site has wonderful recipes, she also shares some wonderful sites for you to look at, Eco Vegan Gal, and Jason Wrobel has a wonderful blog. Invest in vegan and vegetarian cook books. your local library has a variety if you are on a limited budget like i am. I am on the path of going vegan so im learning as i go. Good luck with your Journey. you have a wonderful support group here so i hope to hear from you and see what you have to share.
