when I became a vegetarian in december 2010 i was struggeling once again with my anorexia. my job was killing me, i was giving everything and in the end i even had to fight for my wage when they fired me. it was really hard especially as i worked as a nanny and i really loved the kids and miss them even now 2 years later.
but in spring 2011 i saw a video about you Alicia. it was something about being vegan and why. and it was sooooo kind and just the right thing to do, that I became vegan that day. the next weeks I not only adapted the vegan lifestyle, I also learned to enjoy food and cooking again. and so I managed to get to a healthier weight again. i wasn't just kind to my environment, I learned to be kind to myself. something I wasn't used to, something I just didn't knew until then.
with a healthier weight there came another wonderful thing: I became pregnant. it wasn't exactly planned, but we were and are so happy about that. unfortunately I had such a strong "morning"-sickness until the end of pregnancy with even a hospital stay and lots of vomiting that I didn't stayed vegan during pregnancy. I regret that a lot, but with no one around telling me that it could be done without risking the babys life and only people telling me the opposite, I was way to scared to stay vegan. but after delivery I started reading about vegan pregnancy, motherhood and childhood and since then not only I am back on track also my little boy is a healhty little vegan. his daddy is ok with vegan food although he is an omnivore, but every meal counts, that my new motto!
I just wanna share that with you guys, because I am deeply grateful for my life, my love and my little family. and I really think veganism was a big and important step to get there where I am now.
so i not only wanna thank my family and friends for never letting me down. I also wanna thank you Alicia for spreading the veganism so kind and for being part of changing my life so beautifuly!!!!
