a possibly ignorant question about sea veggies

soo i'm just getting started with the superhero side of things, and one thing i've been wondering about is the heavy emphasis on sea vegetables.
one of the main reasons for the exclusion of a lot of fruit in this diet is the fact that most of it is not local and it just doesn't make sense to eat it, for our bodies or for the environment.
wouldn't that also hold true for sea veggies? obviously not everywhere, but in a place like, say, Kansas. or other landlocked areas? should superheroes in those areas really be supporting the massive amounts of energy it takes for veggies from the ocean to get to them?
hopefully somebody can explain this better than my brain!
Not ignorant at all! You're right in that the exclusion of a lot of fruit has to do with whether or not it's local but there are other factors too. Fruits are high in sugar, and yes, it's natural sugar, but it's still a lot of sugar. Also fruit doesn't have a lot of protein, which is why it's fine to have them occasionally but it's not sustainable to only eat fruit. As for sea veggies, if it's not local or if it's not available, don't stress out over getting it. Eating superhero isn't specifically about sea vegetables. Sea veggies are nutritionally loaded with a lot of vitamins and minerals but you can't still eat superhero without them. I do. But do try to include a lot of leafy greens in your superhero diet and also be sure to include whole grains.
