Potato Tikki

Potato cutlet is really delicious dish, you can enjoy it every Sunday. Since this dish is quiet heavy on digestive system, you can have it with Coriander sauce.

Ingredients

  • 3 potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, chopped (optional)
  • 1 Bread, Medium size
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 3/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mango powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon teaspoon salt ( or to taste )
  • 3 tablespoons oil

Directions

  1. Mix boiled and mashed potatoes,bread, chopped onion, chopped mint and coriander leaves, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, dry mango powder and salt to taste ( do not add water ). Make a soft mixture.
  2. Divide this aloo mixture into 6 equal portions. Make round balls and flatten into round shape (See given picture for help)
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan. Arrange tikki and fry on a low heat for 8 - 10 minutes till golden color on each side.
  4. Serve hot with tomato sauce or mint chutney or coriander sauce or tamarind chutney.
