First of all, I’ve had exercise-induced asthma for at least 5 years and have needed to use an inhaler every time I exercise.
For the past week, I’ve noticed that I can get through an entire workout without needing to use it! It’s a miracle! I also have suffered from depression for many many years, and thought I would have to take anti-depressants for the rest of my life. Every time I would stop taking them for even one day, I would feel so unbelievably down and even suicidal. Well, three days ago, I ran out of my prescription and had forgotten to call it in in advance, so I had to go a day without it. I thought for sure I was going to be miserable, especially with all the stress right now from school. Well, amazingly, I felt no difference in my attitude that day! I thought it was a complete fluke, so I picked up my prescription, but decided not to take it another day to see what would happen (I kept them close by just in case I started to become ornery of course). I still felt wonderful.
It’s now been three days and I haven’t taken my prescription and I have seriously never felt better. I totally believe it has to do with my plant-based diet. I know I keep saying it, but I just feel amazing. Like there’s so much more to life than I ever knew. (Now I just have to cut caffeine out of my diet and I know I will be in nirvana). I’m so glad there’s so many of us out there who have decided to make this transition, and I’m so glad there’s this lovely place for us to hang out and chat! Can’t wait to get to know you all.“
