Today is the official first day of summer.
My day started out just right. I ate a superhero breakfast and went to yoga class, which always feels great. Yoga is my church. I feel so happy and balanced after my anusara class. The yoga instructor reminded me of how different seasons affect the body.
Summer is a season of extreme weather; it’s not the ideal time for cleanses or fasting (spring and fall are better for that). Rather, it’s a time to relax and enjoy your life. Get outside. And we naturally eat less during summer because it’s hot. It’s a good time for salads of all varieties, grain salads and bean salads included. It’s a time for lighter cooking styles and times – a lighter flair to all you prepare.
This summer, try to do as many of your favorite activities as possible. If you like going to the beach, go as much as you can. Ride your bike as much as you can, and just do what you love to do as much as possible.
What summer activities are you looking forward to most?
