Happy Hanukkah!

Happy Hanukkah! What are your plans to celebrate this year?

When people traditionally light the menorah, it is a celebration and a reminder that just one day’s worth of oil burned for eight days (and the victory of the Jews of course). This tiny bit of energy went such a long way. For me this translate to Hanukkah is about saving energy and being super eco and grateful. This inspires me to make the most of the resources we have, through energy efficiency and conservation. There are other simple and effective ways to recduce your impact this Hanukkah, check out some of these suggestions. You’ll also find some funky eco friendly menorahs!

Hanukkah is also a great time to eat delicious, kind food. As a little girl, I remember making the best challah at Hebrew school. If you’re looking to bake some challah, try out these two vegan recipes Cookie’s Water Hallah and this one I posted a few years ago. Also be sure to check out the Vegan Latkes Two Ways post. How do you like to eat your latkes? For more holiday recipes inspiration, browse the holiday section of the recipe gallery.

Happy Hanukkah & Happy Holidays!

Hi Alicia, and Happy Hanukkah! I remember playing Dreidel–the game– as a child, and I really enjoyed it. I haven’t played it in a long time and I forgot the rules, but I’m going to do research online so I can play it again–I miss it! :-) And thank you for the post with the great eco-friendly suggestions and cool recipes!

Happy Hanukkah dear lovely creature Alicia !!! I have nothing planned this year, this period of the year will probably be more crowded for you than for me… I don’t really mind, I figure in the future things will probably be better for me… Have a nice day XOXOXO
