After "numerous" years on this planet I'll bet you've also seen compassionate pet owners who are committed to the well being their pets...healthy or sick. Your argument that loving pet owners take on every other pet owner whom they feel don't live up to their expectations is ridiculous. And to suggest that one should stay away from pet shelters if they don't like abuse absurd! That's where you GO the help with the problem. You started out cute but seem to have turned ugly, at least on the inside. Want everyone to ignore you? The difference between preaching and sharing one's beliefs is in the delivery. You might want to work on that a little. And what if you did see those same dogs in five years and they were healthy and thriving, maybe even having had offspring of their own doing just as well. Would you be man enough to say you were wrong? -
@ Jacqui. After numerous years on this planet I have too often seen that when the cuteness wears off...so does the love. Animal abuse needs to be preached about everywhere, so that people who do love their pets do not become complacent about OTHER OWNERS who do not. If the mere mention of animal abuse brings you down, then I would suggest that you remain as far away from animal shelters as possible. All animals start off cute to someone.
It is a cute picture....regardless, I would like to see those same dogs in five years. -

Geez STAN, way to bring us down. I think this is exactly NOT the place you need to preach about proper animal care...all of us here are obviously already in that ballpark.

Our pets rely on us for everything........in a perfect world they would all be treated and loved equally. Penalties for animal abuse should be high enough to be a deterrent to further abuse, or the pet removed from it's owner. Contrary to what the bible says we were not given Dominion over all the creatures on this planet....we SHARE our existence with them.
