When I went back to New York for the Vamps screening, Christopher, Bear, and I went twice to this organic macrobiotic restaurant we love called Souen. This is a superhero restaurant, minus the fish of course!
What I love is the yuba skin soup. Yuba is this sweet-tasting skin made of soy protein that forms on top of soy milk after it's been heated and then cooled. So delicious! The tempura there is also super yummy and the macro plate is of course so healing and tasty. I got some cookies for the plane ride back to LA--so good!! The green tea mousse tastes kind of like the green tea ice cream I used to get when I was a kid. It certainly does the trick. Yum!
It also makes for great airplane food. I always pack food for the plane so picking up some Souen makes a guaranteed good flight.
We almost always stay downtown so this place is our lifesaver for superhero style. It's just such a great place to grab a bite when you need to stay healthy and are running around like crazy and working a ton. They have three locations, but this time we went to the SoHo one. Nourishing and delicious as always.
What are your favorite superhero restaurants or restaurants that serve superhero food?

I just returned from a trip to NYC, and visited one of my favorite places - Blossom. It is probably tied with Gobo as my favorite restuarant in the city.

There's a buffet style restaurant called Kale in Toronto at Yonge and Eglington, where you pay by weight.

hey ya'll, from NYC here...
one of my new favorites is Otarian - in addition to being all veggie (with nearly all optional as vegan), they recycle and compost everything and everything they use, including the chairs you sit on are made of recyclables. check them out at http://www.otarian.com/
another favorite on the run is the Maoz vegetarian chain - all over NYC - nothing like a nice falafel sandwich with a superb toppings bar.
and in my hood, Prospect Heights/Crown Heights, there are some great West Indian/Rasta Juice and vegan sandwich chops, one example - Veggies Natural Juice Bar on 785 Franklin Ave. so good!

Hello all,
I'm sorry to be a little off-topic, but I can't find another place to post this information or bring it to people's attention:
Alicia and Kind Lifers, we all may be interested in the current "Food Revolution Summit" that is occurring, via telephone and computer broadcast, all this week. It is a series of interviews with people at the forefront of vegan/"plant based" nutrition -- Esselstyn, Fuhrman, Ornish, Freedman, Barnard, Shiva, Campbell, Patel and a bunch more. It is FREE to register and to listen (although they do try to sell you an "upgrade" package that includes downloads of all the interviews). Each interview is broadcast twice each day. You can sign up at foodrevolution.org, I believe.
I am not affiliated with this project in any way -- I just found out about it and it seemed like something this community might love. I didn't see it posted anywhere and couldn't find a place to contact the site administrators to get a post made about it, so I'm posting here. If anybody wants to pick it up and put it in a better/more accessible thread, please feel free!

That place in NYC looks fantastic! Please check out Casa de Luz - a brand new restaurant in San Diego! It's definitely Super Hero - Organic and Macrobiotic! They have taken the guess work out - they serve one plate per meal plus soup and salad - no decisions to make - except on dessert, if you still have room! It's super yummy and features "community style" seating, or regular seating. You will love it! http://www.casadeluz.org/sandiego/
