Happy Hanukkah!

When people traditionally light the menorah, it is a celebration and a reminder that just one day’s worth of oil burned for eight days (and the victory of the Jews of course). This tiny bit of energy went such a long way. For me this translate to Hanukkah is about saving energy and being super eco and grateful.

Happy Hanukkah! What are your plans to celebrate this year?
When people traditionally light the menorah, it is a celebration and a reminder that just one day’s worth of oil burned for eight days (and the victory of the Jews of course). This tiny bit of energy went such a long way. For me this translate to Hanukkah is about saving energy and being super eco and grateful. This inspires me to make the most of the resources we have, through energy efficiency and conservation. There are other simple and effective ways to reduce your impact this Hanukkah, check out some of these suggestions. You’ll also find some funky eco friendly menorahs!
Hanukkah is also a great time to eat delicious, kind food. As a little girl, I remember making the best challah at Hebrew school. If you’re looking to bake some challah, try out these two vegan recipes Cookie’s Water Hallah and this one I posted a few years ago. Also be sure to check out the Vegan Latkes Two Ways post. How do you like to eat your latkes?
Happy Hanukkah & Happy Holidays!
How will you celebrate? What traditions do you love for Hanukkah?
