Whatever the occasion, I always try to give gifts that people need. Some of my favorite beauty products, natural products, a copy of one my books, or mykind Organics vitamins. It’s important to me that the gifts I give are always vegan, eco, and useful.
From do-it-yourself funky gifts to eco and social conscious goods, here’s a guide to kind gift giving this season:
DIY Gifts
Upcycled branch photo holder from Carolyn’s Homework
Mason jar herb wall planter from Not Just a Housewife made with reclaimed wood. How great would this be in your kitchen?
Send a batch of delicious home made cookies! The Chocolate Dipped Shortbread Cookies on page 187 of The Kind Diet would be a pretty holiday cookie to mail to your loved ones. Or my mom’s granola in a jar on page 201 of The Kind Diet is the best ever!
One year, I baked assorted desserts from my book and gifted them in boxes decorated with pieces of ribbon or wrapping paper I’d been given in the past. I also included the recipes (printed on recycled paper of course), so my friends could recreate their kind treats.
Make a salt scrub for your girlfriends or fellow kind mamas, Everyday Roots has a nice looking recipe.
Make some healthy Play-Dough with your little one to gift to family friends. Find the recipe from Mommypotamus.
If Crafting Isn’t In the Cards:
If this year is crazy madness for you, you can find great eco-friendly gifts all over the web!
An organic cotton & Fair Trade scarf! This one is made by artisans in India, found on People Tree
Schmidt’s deodorant! Schmidt’s is vegan, all natural, and really works! I gifted it to my fellow cast mates when Of Good Stock was coming to an end. It now comes in roll on!
A re-usable tote bag always comes in handy! This cute bag by RockFlowerPaper gives a percentage of sales to Ocean Conservancy.
Dedicate a tree in honor of someone special in your life! You can place a tree dedication through Tree People, donate as little as $25 and they will plant a tree.
