Kind Lifer Amy posted something on the site that I just love! She wrote:
“If you haven’t already recycled or thrown out all the holiday cards you received this year, you can give them a second life! I found out this weekend that St. Jude’s Ranch for Children in Nevada gives used cards a second life by removing the front and attaching a new back. Go to this link to read more about the program and to find out where to send them.
I sent my cards in yesterday and it only cost about $3 to mail them all. They actually take all kinds of cards, not just holiday cards. Just wanted to let everyone know!“
This place sounds wonderful! And since the holidays just passed, I’m sure lots of you have holidays cards lying around. Such a great place to send them to!
Check out their site, and if you have extra cards, you can send them to this address:
Recycled Card Program
100 St. Jude’s Street
Boulder City, NV 89005
However, if you don’t want to send the cards away, you can always reuse them next holiday season! If you buy new cards each year, it would be even more green to just reuse the cards yourself, so that you aren’t buying new cards every year. But, if you don’t send cards and you probably won’t reuse your cards, then this is a great alternative!
