If you’re in the Detroit area of Michigan, check out SASHA Farm, a sanctuary for rescued ‘food animals’ and other critters.
SASHA Farm is the Midwest’s largest farm animal sanctuary and they provide the animals with basic care, medical treatment and housing, lots of love and social interaction with others of their own species, as well as a sense of security. The founders Dorothy Davies and Monte Jackson started rescuing animals about 20-years ago with a few dogs…the shelter is currently home to over 200 animals, each with its own story to tell.
