Eco Friendly Swimsuits for Summer!

Looking for eco swimsuits can be tough! And they’re not easy to come by at thrift stores either… Most new conventional suits are made of synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon, which are made from petrochemicals. Nylon manufacturing in particular creates nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas. For this reason, I went on a hunt to find some cute yet eco swim wear!

If you need a bathing suit, where do you like to shop? Any other cute and eco companies out there?

KoruKoru Swimwear uses recycled polymide to comprise 78% of their suits! This material comes from post-consumers recycled materials like discarded fishing nets.

Faeries Dance

This cute one piece from Faeries Dance is made of bamboo viscose, organic cotton, and small amounts of spandex and nylon.

Amitiwi

Amitiwi suits are screen printed by hand by Tiwi artists. They use 100% solvent free and eco friendly inks.

Luz Collections

The Luz Collections bathing suit line is chic yet simple. All suits are made of almost entirely organic cotton! With 93% organic cotton and 7% elastane.

Finch

Finch Designs utilizes fabrics from 87% post consumer use plastic bottles. The straps are removable so it can become a bandeau!

Zero + Maria Cornejo

This Zero + Mario Cornejo suit is made in NY with 78% recycled fabrics!

Vitamin AVitamin A uses EcoLuxTM technology, a superfine matte jersey fabric made in California using recycled nylon fiber with Lyrca®
