Cauliflower Buffalo Wings

Wondering what to make for the Superbowl? These are the perfect solution to traditional wings, but much healthier and lower in both calories and fat. You could eat the entire recipe for the same about of calories in 6 regular wings! What’s not to love about that?

Ingredients

  • unsweetened almond milk 1 cup
  • flour of choice- whole wheat or gluten free 1 cup
  • head cauliflower
  • chopped 1 na
  • onion powder 1 tsp
  • garlic powder 2 tsp
  • buffalo sauce- like Franks Hot Sauce 0.75 cup
  • Earth Balance or other vegan butter 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 F
  2. Combine flour and milk together. Whisk until no lumps are left. Add garlic and onion powder.
  3. Dip each piece of cauliflower into the flour batter.
  4. Place onto a baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Combine buffalo sauce with melted butter.
  6. Dip each piece into the buffalo sauce. Place back onto the baking sheet and cook for 5 more minutes.
  7. Drizzle with remaining sauce and serve.

    I made these this weekend. Perfect texture – firm but not crunchy. We used Frank’s Buffalo sauce and it was too hot for our teenager -but we loved it! Try a milder sauce if you aren’t into super heat! Celery and dip were the finishing touches – absolutely wonderful. We will do this recipe again.

    Crazy good! Even my meat eating husband liked them. Would definitely work for an omnivore crowd…I’m making them for super bowl. I’m actually a little obsessed with them.

      I think that it’s a typo, the closest I could think it is 1 chopped onion?

    I think that chopped just refers to the head of cauliflower. Mine turned out awesome! Two high fives from my guy! I did you a little extra nut milk to thin out the batter.
